Today, I give you two quotes and ideas derived from them to guide your day.
The first is that holiness and faith is in the spaces between the “things.” They are in time, the spiritual place. The place of the soul. So today, don’t focus on things. Focus on moments and what they bring you. The moment of watching water boil. The moment of just sitting, maybe listening to music or reading a book. The moment of talking to loved ones. Be in that moment. Live within the spaces.
And the second Shabbat guide: you have nothing to dominate but yourself today. Those other things will be there when Shabbat ends. Focus on you! Be mindful of you. Pay attention to your thoughts, your feelings, your wants and needs. Pay attention to where you are and what moment you are in. You are not selfish. You are not lazy. You are taking today to rest your physical self and to nurture your soul. You’re refueling, recharging, renewing.
Give yourself this gift today. I promise you’ll thank yourself (have faith). Love you all and Shabbat Shalom!
