“A Song of Ascendings.
Those who trust in Adonai
Are like Mount Zion, which will not be shaken;
It abides forever.”
Inspiration
As with all of my omer posts, this one may only apply to some. For those that need this message today, take it in, process it, and begin the work. For the choir members to whom I am preaching, I see you.
Today I am going to ask you to slow down. I know it’s a strange ask in a time where everything around us seems to have come to a complete stop. But the speed of life comes from within and we have to be very conscious about how we steer our journeys.
When we are used to life moving at a certain pace, it’s easy for us to spiritually and emotionally keep the pace. But when things around us slow down, it can be very jarring. So it makes sense that energetically we try to fill the space. We keep ourselves busy in fear that the quiet will tear us apart. I promise you it won’t.
We cannot continue to frantically fill our time and space. We have to be willing to allow for the natural course of what our space will be. Meaning, take the time to be quiet and see what ideas, thoughts, emotions, and inspirations come to YOU. Stop reaching and begin to receive.
I’m not saying you have to do this 24/7 but for those who have time on their hands, try it out for a few days. For those who are busy with kids and work, give yourself the gift of an hour or two a day to simply be. To not search for the next thing to fill your time. Sleep doesn’t count. 🙂
I said it before and I’ll say it again. I love you all and I’m inspired by your openness and your perseverance. We’re doing it and we will continue to do so. Together.
