“Therefore my heart rejoices, my self-respect exults!
My body dwells secure.”
Inspiration
As Shabbat approaches tonight, I’d like for all of us to give ourselves a gift, the gift of self love. We’re all capable of it. We just don’t always know how to access it. Self love is more than just loving yourself. It’s about having respect for yourself, about forgiving mistakes that you’ve made, about knowing who you are and not being afraid to bring it into the world.
Here’s what I’d like you to do today.
Write down (or think of) 5 things you know to be true about yourself. Now read (or say) each one out loud, followed by “I love that about myself.” Repeat at least 3 times. This may seem strange or uncomfortable for some of you but vulnerability and self love often is. Do it anyway.
Give yourself this gift before Shabbat and enter It with love in your heart so that you may share it with others.
If you’re comfortable, I’d love for you to share with me those 5 things. I promise I won’t post them on social media. 🙂
Shabbat Shalom to all of you. You deserve it.
