Praised be Adonai my Rock,
Who trains my hands for the battle,
My fingers for the war.”
Every experience in life trains us for the next. The lessons we’ve learned, the mistakes we’ve made, the strength we gained. I think we all know that we are going to come out of this quarantine as different people. The lessons that we are currently learning will prepare us for the next stage in our lives. It’s hard to focus on the future when you are going through “it” but what helps is to be able to draw from the past. Remind yourself of the lessons you’ve learned, of the mistakes you’ve overcome, of the strength that you have gained from past experiences. Even while in the midst of an experience, even when it is hard to know what our future holds, we can remain awake and aware of the steps that we take. Mindfulness can exist even in the most difficult of times.
I love you all. I know that some of us are growing weary and impatient. I know that we may be anxious at times and want answers. We may even be worried that this will be the new normal and we ache to return to what was. Just remember, life doesn’t take us back to where we’ve already been. It propels us forward and to new heights. Ride the journey and explore what it has to offer you.
